Millie Catherin Shore

Mrs. Millie Catherin Mortimer, 81, Valton passed away on September 5, 1979 at St. Joseph's Memorial Hospital, Hillsboro. She was the daughter of Ezra and Dora Stanley and was born in November, 1897 in the Town of Woodland, Sauk County. She was united in marriage to Glen Mortimer and they spent their entire married life together farming in the Valton area. Survivors include: three sons, Maurice, Janesville, Donald, Rio and James, Wonewoc; five daughters, LaVerna Hanko, Cazenovia, LaVera Stittleburg, Wonewoc, Vivian Wiers, Mauston, Marcy Scrivens, Madison, and Helen at home: a sister, Jenny Mortimer, Sheldon, Wis.; 39 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services were held on September 8 at 1:30 p.m. in the Valton Wesleyan Church with Rev. Ensign and Rev. Eastman officiating.

Interment was in the family lot in the Valton Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons Maynard Mortimer, James Stittleburg, Allen Hanko Steve Mortimer, Jeffry Mortimer and John Mortimer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen, two sons, Jerome and Glen, Jr.; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
