Della Horton
Mrs. Della Horton Mortimer was born near Valton, Wisconsin, February 1, 1873, the daughter of E. E. and Anne Eliza Horton. In 1889 she was married to Wilson Mortimer, and to this union were born two sons, Spencer and Gurdon, and one daughter, Lucy Balch. Her husbands and sons preceded her in death several years ago.
In 1940 she was married to Will Mortimer, and he passed away in 1945 in Borger, Texas, where they had gone to live with her daughter, Lucy.
Mrs. Mortimer had many varied interests. She was a loyal member of the Friends Church.
She passed away February 6, 1958 in Borger, Texas.
Surviving are one daughter, Lucy Balch of Borger, Texas; two stepdaughters, Cecil Hendricks of Valton and Thelma Bauer of Mauston; two stepsons, Lona and Roy Mortimer, both of Baraboo.
After funeral services in Borger, Texas, on Feb. 8, Mrs. Mortimer's body was brought to the Thompson funeral home in Wonewoc. Services were held on Feb. 10 at the Valton Friends Church with the Revs. Eastman and Henderson officiating assisted by Rev. Taylor Guthrie of Iowa City, Iowa. Burial was in the Valton cemetery.
